Introducing Florida Mold Assessment
We are proud to announce our expansion into a more specialized area, Mold!
From strange odors, dark “stains”, and a general overall feeling of un-well, mold plays a very large part in our lives- especially here is SW Fl!
Watch as Rick explains what some of the tools of the trade can do to get to the bottome of your mold problem.
So What makes a Mold Assessor different?
Often, when we hear the word “mold” in relation to our living conditions, we get a little crazy. But since we live in Florida, and that is a very prevalent situation, we are here to tell you we can help! With the right equipment a mold “problem” can soon become a distant memory.
First, let’s explore the differences between a mold inspector, a mold assessor, and a mold remediator. Although they work in conjunction with each other, in that order, there are subtle differences.
What is a Mold Inspector?
A mold inspection, in this case performed by a home inspector, consists of a visual inspection for mold growth, moisture mapping for hidden leaks, air sampling, surface sampling, and checking the air conditioning for mold. Every inspection can be different as some could be limited in nature.
What is a Mold Assessor?
The mold assessor is essentially the architect of the project, a common industry phrase referencing their pre- and post-project responsibilities. Due to this managerial role of the mold assessor, selecting a qualified and experienced assessor is the first step to take. It’s also important to have an assessor look at your situation sooner rather than later- what can start as a small, easy to remediate solution can turn into a very large (and costly!) clean up!
What is a mold remediator?
The term “remediation” is the action of remedying something, in particular of reversing or stopping environmental damage. That is exactly what happens when they get involved- they remove the contamination through the stringent process as defined by the Mold Assessor.
